I strongly believe that the reason DSS / DCF has been so gung-ho to take my daughter and adopt her out is race-based. I am of mixed heritage, though all the DSS paperwork labels me “african american” (Who are they to choose a racial identification for me??). My daughter is caucasian in appearance, hair texture, etc. Now isn’t it true that the Gold Standard for adoption is a healthy WHITE infant? And for an older child, a healthy WHITE toddler? Girl or boy, doesn’t matter. And although we have made some progress in cross-cultural relations, the fact still remains that society will NOT accept a dark-skinned mixed person raising a white looking child. Oh, it’s OK for white women to have mixed babies, and it’s OK for celebrities to have mixed babies, but for a regular person or worse, a POOR person to have a white looking child is disgusting. Blacks don’t like the idea because it threatens their social identities. Whites don’t like it because they see a white kid growing up conflicted…oh let’s just say it. They don’t want white looking kids growing up niggers.

No one in DSS / DCF will ever admit to this, but it’s so blatant in this case. Why focus on nitpick-y things that can be resolved WITH the child in the home? Because that’s how you draw out a case. That’s how you keep a child in care long enough to change the goal.

Interesting how KaRe never called either of her previous foster moms ‘mummy’, but she gets up to the Cape Ann office and suddenly it’s all about “Mummy Kym”…
who is white.

  1. You would be surprised just how often people are targeted for the stupidest reasons. It doesn’t have to be just race, it can be religion and especially the poor.

These liberal jerks think that poor people have less rights to their offspring and that child will be better off with a more affluent family. Do poor people love their children less?

Let me tell you what, I’ve known plenty of despressed rich kids, who’s parents don’t have time for them. It’s sick.

Don’t give up the fight. Your daughter is beautiful! I hope she comes home soon.
