My name is Tracy Schoon and I live in Linn County and would like to tell everyone a little about my grievances with DHS.  I have had serious problems with the Linn County DHS and was innocent from the beginning.  They accused me of neglecting my daughter who was 2 at the time.  They tore my child from my arms. My daughter went through hell (scratching her face up and crying constantly) and I went and am still going through mental torture because of their actions after they took her. They ruined my life and mentally wrecked my 2 year old daughters.  They found me innocent by the state TWO years later after I appealed the county by myself (thanks to a bad public defender lawyer they gave me who did not do a thing for me).  The county DHS lawyer Mary Wickman tried to argue with the State Judge Administrator during my hearing saying I was this and I was that. These DHS workers never knew how CLOSE my daughter and I were and how HAPPY we both were together and the fact that I was a really good mom if they would of only asked people that actually knew me and saw me and my daughter together. They did not want to hear from those people. They said a foster home for her OR she could go with her father (who by the way, held me down to conceive her, as well as was physically, emotionally abusive to me for a very short time until I moved away from him while I was pregnant with my 2 year old) (DHS knew all this too, it was on police reports, old no-contact orders ect.)  The County defamed me, falsely accused me of things, slandered me, harassed me, labeled me, mentally hurt me (my daughter was gone for no reason and anything I tried to do to try to convince DHS I was innocent was not good enough), they tortured/threatened me otherways too; I lost my Section 8 housing for no reason, they said my urine alcohol tests were too dilute (that’s a good one), so they said it would be positive on my records, I began having stress-induced angina, insomnia, deep depression and worry for my daughter. I have been through pure hell anotherwords and convicted of something I am not and finally got the state to clear my name and now I have to try to fight for custody of my daughter who I hardly ever get to see because her father is Hitler-like.

  DHS seems to like to separate the child from the family on a bias without any really true facts.  In a way, they are like witch-hunters who have to make their quotas every month to look good in standing with the state. (Like they are REALLY doing a lot of work and helping abuse, when actually they are looking and accusing in all the wrong places).  We need to halt their immoral, illogical actions.  We, as the people need to put DHS in their place.  DHS must learn to separate fact from fiction and they should have to provide solid proof.  It is not protecting the kids to take them from their innocent parents, it IS actually mentally abusing our children, even against their OWN policy guidelines of abuse.

   To make these changes and help change the system of abuse, I feel all of us who have been falsely accused should band together with all our own documents/sources and: 1- Take them to the Paper and News  2-  Take them to the Courthouse  3- Take them to our congressman/ governor. We need to put an end to some of the caseworkers abuse of the system involving our families NOW. 

   How are we, the falsely accused to do this: 1-Set UP A Blog and find a place for us to all meet in our county of grievances and have discussion meetings on our information against DHS.  2- Then we need to gather all our information and take it forward to the above places mentioned. This would definitely end up in some major scandals, and a lot of counties would most likely go broke, and workers fired for their negligences.  Maybe  Maybe then and only then the state would wake up and pass new protective laws for us the people and our families from DHS worker abuse and begin focusing on real children who ARE abused. 

  IT IS TIME FOR US TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND PUT AN END TO DHS ABUSING THEIR POWERS AND TO SAVE OURSELVES AND CHILDREN FROM ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM.  Let’s Stand For What Is Right.  Please chat and give me your input.  Thank-you.
