We went to court early that day and explained to the judge’s secretary that we need a court appointed attorney. She said that when we come in for the hearing let the judge know and he will appoint us a lawyer and give us a new hearing date. This did not happen. We went to the hearing and told the judge we needed a court appointed attorney. During this hearing we were supposed to have the right to question CPS and testify on our own behalf. Not only would the judge not allow us to question anybody he wouldn’t allow us to say anything on our own behalf. The judge did appoint an attorney for us but we coudn’t meet with her until the next day. Even though there wasn’t one single piece of evidence against us the judge allowed CPS to keep all 3 of our kids because Jenice told him the kids were in immediate danger because of Michael Snowden, even though he was cleared of all allegations two months later.

After CPS removed Michael from the home, Steven and Teresa started rebelling because they felt that taking the only dad they had ever known away was wrong. About halfway through the month of May, Steven thought he would stay out way past the time he was supposed to be home. Steven stayed out till after 1:00 a.m. playing with his friends. Michael had a talk with him about this and explained to him that this is not acceptable or permitted. This talk with Michael ended his late night bike rides. On June 1st Teresa ran off with a 21 year old named Nick. Michael was not living at the house and when Teresa didn’t show up by 9:00 p.m. Judy got worried about her. Judy had thought that Teresa was playing a Steven trick and staying out till after 1:00 a.m. When it got close to 2:00 a.m. with no sign of Teresa Judy called the police. The police came out and made a report and said they would look for her. Teresa finally came home around 7:30 the next morning. Judy called the police back and went and got Michael. The police officers told us to take Teresa down to the hospital and have a rape kit done on her to see if she had been sexually active. Detective Phelps told us that we did the right thing by reporting her disappearance then bringing her to the hospital. After that “someone” told Detective Phelps that Judy had allowed Teresa spend the night with a 21 year old (which she did not) and that Teresa shouldn’t be living there with Judy because Judy has no control of her. Detective Phelps told CPS that they should take the kids away from Judy. Later that same day Jenice called from CPS and said that she was taking (jacking) the kids. Judy and Michael took the kids out for supper and explained to them that the state was stealing them from us and we would do everything we can to get them back home as quickly as possible.  After supper we went back home and Jenice came out to steal the kids with armed police officers. Police officers, who are supposed to be there to protect people actually chased Teresa down. Teresa has Spina Bifida and the cops didn’t know or care about that. They chased her down and held her on the ground and put the child in handcuffs. She immediately started complaining about her back hurting her. Since then her back pain has continued to get worse. She has been to the doctor since and may need surgery.
